Apple Music For Android All You Need To Know

Eddie Cue was the first to announced on his Twitter’s account Apple Music service is available now for Android.

You can rock out to the 30-million song catalog or tune in to live radio on Beats One on your Android smartphone and tablet. Even more importantly, Apple Music offers the first official way to stream music you’ve purchased from iTunes on an Android device.

Some Facts

• Starting November 10, Android users will be able to kick off their 3 month trials and start enjoying Apple Music. 

• Apple Music on Android customers will have access to all the great key aspects of Apple Music including For You, New, Radio, Connect and My Music as well as the amazing family plan offer.

• To start, Apple Music on Android will be a beta as there are a small number of features we are still working on – including music videos, signing up for a family membership within the app, and a way to redeem gift cards. 

• Apple Music on Android includes all the key aspects of Apple Music, including For You, New, Radio, Connect and My Music—but in a design that will be familiar on Android.

Some Inconveniences….

The design is the same, but slightly different than iOS

Apple kept much of the same design from the original iOS app, but embraced the typical Android layout too. True to Android design, the app has a left slide-out menu where you can jump to different sections. That menu is where you’ll find the For You, New, Radio, Connect, Playlists and My Music tabs.

No Siri

Siri is part of iOS so unfortunately, you cannot use Google Now’s voice commands to control Apple Music.

Android app is still in beta

Apple released Apple Music on Android with a beta label, indicating that it’s not quite finished and may still have bugs or other problems.
